-Af- by PeteMohrbacher -Af- by PeteMohrbacher
"To starve with a belly bursting full,
To brandish thine sword upon thy self,
To let the vice of fear crush us whole,
This is the dominion of Af

His power holds no equal in the hearts of man
Lo and fear him, for he is our destroyer
But blame him not, lest you be his ally
For his bloody hands are not his but are our own."

Discourse on Af - The angel of anger

Second time around I felt like I understood what this character was all about.

"For his bloody hands are not his but are our own."

I think will sound better like this -
"For those bloody hands are not his but (are) our own."
I can't decide if the "are" belongs there tho'...

"Af" in hebrew is indeed used (even today) as another word for "anger" (the common word is "ka'as"). love the idea. i just wonder; the name is actually an angel's name from somewhere, or was it your idea?

ps: "Af" means "nose" too... ^^

I was going by an online resource I have. One of the things I found out was that almost all the angel names translated directly from Hebrew. That's kinda funny it translates into "nose" too.

you should read the old Bible once.. you'll see some very interesting things there... for example, when it says that god is angry, he reacts with "haron-af"=with anger. "haron" is another way to say anger/wrath as well.

oooh, I know this comment is old as balls but I can't help myself
Most biblical descriptions of angels are actually rather terrifying. Some had several heads.  Many were described as covered in eyes.  Some didn't have facial features, but instead had faces of lighting and fire.  Some had a bajillion wings, or were covered in course hair. There's a whole class of them, or "choir" as it's called where they look like wheels covered in eyes and fire and wings.  There was a reason why they said "Fear not!" when they appeared.

Again, sorry as I know this comment is like 5 years old, but angelology is kind of my obsession. ;p

oh no. My initials are AF... I must be his ally. Actually I think you did AF once before right? I didn't comment though.
And I must know... does AF stand for anything? Or is it just some cool letters put together? XD Now that I look at this pic... AF does kinda fit this guy. Nice.

the face and arms look amazing!! the 3Dness of it is great!
Very nice improvment since the first ones :)
but I think you should pay more attention to the background.. looks like you did it really quickly in order to have just 'something' in there..
Beautiful, and nice tension going on

powerful stuff, you have found some original concepts and made them your own. Love the way the veins
and all muscles seemed to be so strained and tense, sheer frustration.

O yer and the gaps in his arms remind me of raymans floating hands and feet.
